Alternative Learning System in the Philippines: EFA 2015 and beyond
Lecture – Forum Series on ALTERNATIVE LEARNING
September 23, 2011; Friday; 4:00-6:00pm
Training Center, UP College of Education
Diliman Quezon City
The Philippine EFA 2015 goals include the provision of learning needs of all young people and adults through equitable access to appropriate learning and life skills programs. It also targeted 50% improvement in levels of adult literacy by 2015. These goals defined the alternative learning programs led by the Bureau of Alternative Learning System, National Literacy Coordinating Council and their partners. With few years left before 2015, it is worthwhile to examine and reflect on the experiences and lessons learned in alternative learning and consider their implications on teacher education and development
